There were many types of Yorkshire pudding recipes, but Joseph Malin and Robert Baker wanted to create their version of Yorkshire pudding with an American twist, so they combined Yorkshire pudding with French-style fried chicken.

It quickly became a hit, and thus York Fried Chicken was born! Of course, york fried chicken isn’t the only type of fried chicken out there. However, it is one of the more popular types because it’s easy to make and yummy!

 It’s usually served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Yorkshire pudding itself is an eggy carbonated bread created in Britain by adding water or milk to flour then stirring in eggs to give it its airy texture.

Over the years, Yorkshire pudding has evolved into many different varieties, such as sweet Yorkshire puddings made with chocolate, savory Yorkshires made with vegetables, made out of Yorkshire pudding batter fried in Yorkshires! Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 25 Minutes

Ingredients

  1. 8 Pieces of Chicken,
  2. 2 Eggs,
  3. 8 Tablespoons of Flour,
  4. 4 Teaspoons of Paprika,
  5. 1/2 Cup of Salt and Pepper (to taste).

Instructions

  1. Once you have all the ingredients ready, you can begin making york fried chicken by washing and drying your chicken pieces.
  2. Then, take out a large bowl and combine four tablespoons of flour with 2 teaspoons of paprika and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Mix well so that it’s consistent throughout the batter. Next, crack two eggs into another bowl, then whisk until it becomes like a liquid consistency.
  4. If you want gravy, add an extra egg or two, making the Yorkshire pudding thicker.
  5. Once you’ve combined those three ingredients into one bowl, pour the wet mixture over the dry mixture, then mix well until everything is combined properly! Leave this bowl to the side for now.
  6. Now, heat your oil in a large pot on the stove at medium heat. You’ll want to use enough oil to cover about half of your chicken pieces once they are added to the pot.
  7.  Once the oil is hot enough, coat each piece of chicken with york fried batter, then carefully place them into the pot. Leave them to fry for 10 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy!
  8. Once you’ve fried all your chicken pieces, take them out and let them drain on two paper towels before you serve! york fried chicken is best-served piping warm and can be garnished with green beans and mashed potatoes! Serve with gravy if desired as well!
