  1. Bring milk, 1/2 cup sugar, cream, and 3 tablespoons cocoa powder to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk egg yolks until light they are foamy. Slowly whisk the hot mixture into the eggs to temper them (to avoid cooking the eggs).
  3. Add tempered eggs back into your saucepan with your chocolate milk mixture, constantly whisking until fully combined.
